Valentino Rossi claimed to have been in a dilemma to choose tires in the Spanish MotoGP. In the end The Doctor chose the wrong tire and found it difficult to compete in the leading position.

After being runner up in the previous race in Austin, Rossi could only finish in sixth place in the Spanish MotoGP celebration. Starting the race from position 13, The Doctor then finished in sixth place.

The mistake of choosing a tire claimed Rossi had a big influence in the unsatisfactory results he achieved at the Jerez Circuit. It was further aggravated by poor results in the qualifying session, which made Rossi have to start far from the front position.

The fact that Maverick Vinales got good results using medium tires made Rossi believe the tire selection was the reason for the results he had achieved at Jerez. Rossi confident can compete for the podium if the choice of tires is right.

"I was very curious to try medium tires, because in the end Maverick was very good with the tires."

"I think, if I start the race from the front position a little, then I will be able to be with the rider group in the front position, not far from Vinales (third place)," Rossi finished.
